In-Room-Dining Telephone Sales Associate muct assure highest quality of the department by working in an efficient and conscious manner, as well as, maintaining and developing the highest service standards possible.

  • Must fully comply and abide by the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) of the company.

  • Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.

  • Use courteous and efficient telephone etiquette while obtaining all information necessary to process the guest’s order.

  • Record covers, handle special orders, check for out of stock items, and obtain the specials for the day.

  • Answer In-Room Dining phone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.

  • Operate the computer system for order-taking, check printing, closing out checks and printing reports.

  • Maintain knowledge of all menus (including Daily Specials, Alternative Cuisine, wine list, etc.) and of the service of food and beverage items offered by the department and the hotel.

  • Up sell to guests as well as confirm their order before thanking them.

  • Complete side work as assigned.

  • Record replenishment of the Honor Bars and deliver the guests needs accordingly.

  • Record all guest charges, gratuities and cash transactions accurately.

  • Coordinate between the server and kitchen for smooth, coordinated service.

  • Assure that all amenity requests are received, filed, ordered from kitchen and delivered in a prompt and accurate fashion.

  • Assume responsibility for a house float and follow all operating procedures regarding the float.

  • Check all orders before they leave Room Service if no manager is present.

  • Document void checks and the reason for the void.

  • Assist in the training of new staff.

  • Control the cleanliness in the Room Service area.

  • Inform the In-Room Dining Manager of all customer complaints and make appropriate efforts to correct the problem.

  • Maintain an In-Room Dining control sheet so the Room Service Manager knows when an order was taken, delivered, and retrieved and by whom.

  • Assist the servers with setting up orders.

  • Assume responsibility of the department when no management is present.

  • Inform the In-Room Dining Manager of all customer complaints and make appropriate efforts to correct the problem.

  • Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.

  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.

  • Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in In-Room Dining.

  • Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.

  • 6 months minimum food and beverage experience.

  • Working knowledge of food, wines, spirits.

  • Excellent mathematical skills.

  • Computer skills are helpful but not required.
